In the heart of summer, Hampton’s housing scene is vibrant. Single-family homes’ median sale price has hit a dazzling new high of $1.07 million, rising 7.5% from the last year. It’s a golden time for high-end homes, with 48 properties over $5 million changing hands in recent months – the highest since 2015. The story, however, isn’t only about the price surge. Buyers still bargain hard, with 86% of sales under the asking price. They enjoyed an average 12% discount. Raymond Lord, a local realtor, says buyers still haggle, even when the markets are on fire.
